Francesco Rosi: 'Chronicle of a Death Foretold'

Chronicle of a Death Foretold screens at the Pacific Film Archive as part of the Modernist Masters series on August 12.  Gabriel García Marquez' novella, which unfolds around uncertain crimes of passion, is faithfully adapted by Rosi but focuses on his own recurring theme: motives behind violence.
